   Sunware PV Panels for Boats and Yachts

 

SunWare solar modules are designed and tested specifically for use in marine and salt water environments. The modules are completely maintenance free, durable, and weather proof, even under extreme exposure to Ultra Violet (UV) rays whether in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean or the North Sea.

SunWare solar modules are always a reliable partner. Their distinctive feature: all 12V standard solar modules are designed with 39 cells. Consequently, SunWare solar modules can be fitted without rear ventilation. Thus, any voltage drop due to high outside temperatures is compensated by the 3 additionally integrated cells to enable a full recharge of the battery.

The back of the module is completely flat so that it can be screwed or glued flush to the deck. SunWare standard solar modules should always be fitted to a firm, inflexible surface. The modules can be fitted flat to deck surfaces with a curving of up to 3%. Due to the extremely flat module structure, the module only adds 3mm, and 15mm at the cable outlet. The 3m PU sheathed cable is robust, UV resistant and weather proof. To reduce the risk of slipping in wet conditions, the module surface is slightly structured. Within the scope of constant quality control, each individual module is tested and calibrated prior to delivery.

Large Range: The SunWare range is ideal for use in virtually all harsh environments and have a range of panels to meet all requirements.

Easy Installation: simple installation using adhesive, screws, or the SunWare mounting clips. Modules must be installed such as to prevent vibration when installed to a firm, inflexible surface, the modules can be walked on with boat shoes. Modules have 3% flexibility usually sufficient for curved deck surfaces on board.

Suitable For: All marine activities, caravans and motor homes. The power output for all modules above 40Wp is guaranteed to be within +/-5% thus enabling accurate system sizing for cost-effective power supply.

Mid-Power Range Solar Panel

SunWare solar panels have the highest power output to surface area ratio of semi-flexible panels on the market. Their efficient polycrystalline cells convert sunlight to power into your battery so you can have cool drinks and keep the depth sounder running. They have been specifically designed for marine applications and so are built to the very highest quality standard of materials and workmanship. This is backed up by a 3 year warranty and can be seen in the following SunWare products construction and features:

  • The clear EVA surface which thermally seals the photovoltaic cells to protect them against water ingress and is bonded to the stainless steel substrate.

  • The V4 marine grade stainless steel substrate that is totally resistant to atmospheric corrosion and salt water.

  • The seawater-tight cable outlet and break proof electrical contacts.

  • The structured Teflon coated surface which can be walked on and is designed to reduce the possibility of slipping even in wet weather.

  • SunWare panels are flexible up to 3% (=3cm over 1m) across their length so they can be conveniently placed on curved surfaces.

  • Each panel is supplied with 3m of cable with an in-line diode to prevent reverse power from the battery in darkness

  • Each solar panel is individually tested to industry standards.

High Power Range


The High Power Range modules are truly space saving! The cell area of the solar panel is maximised so you don’t use any more space than necessary. Fitting is flexible, they can be glued to a smooth surface, simply screwed using the drilled holes provided or affixed using edge mounting clips available. The cable exit of the 48W & 69W models is located at the right side of the panel and uniquely the 39W model is available in both left and right handed cable exits allowing 2 panels to be conveniently placed side by side.

SunWare solar panels are particularly efficient as they are made up of 39 and 40 cells, a feature that has two distinct advantages:

  • They run cooler and therefore deliver excellent performance is summer months and in hotter climates.

  • The additional cells assist in compensating for lost voltage in overcast conditions delivering power for longer than solar panels with less cells.

Marine Modules
SUNWARE’S 24W & 36W Marine modules are ideal for boats with low to medium battery charging requirements. They effectively maintain & replenish batteries whilst away and typically replace some of the power consumed whilst on board.

The 70W Marine module is suited to live-aboards and those spending holidays on board, assisting in keeping the refrigerator and other appliances
running.

Compact Marine Modules
The Compact range is truly space saving and with modules available in the high power range these are the module of choice for live-aboards. 2 or more units or even alongside a Rutland Windcharger these modules will reduce engine running time for live-aboards. Available in 48W & 69W the Compacts use 39 cells ensuring the best possible ratio of power generated to surface area
