SCHUCO grid-connected solar electricity
systems consist of the following main components:
- Solar modules - fitted with
quick connectors
- Mounting structure - to suit
building location and degree of integration
- Module cables, string cables, dc
box
- Inverter - to match array
characteristics
- DC electrical hardware - main
indoor cables, possibly a dc disconnect switch
- AC electrical hardware -
connection between mains and inverter, protection devices, kWh
meter, etc.
- It may also include monitoring,
display, data logging devices.
In
grid-connected systems the electricity produced by solar (PV) modules
is used directly in the building and any excess energy is fed into
the grid. When the solar electric system does not produce enough
electricity for the building's needs, power is drawn from the grid.

In a large building, such a solar electricity
system can reduce the peak daytime power consumption from the grid,
thus reducing electricity costs. Also, the solar PV panels can
replace standard roof materials, effectively reducing the investment
needed in the solar electricity system.
When the system is in place it
begins to pay for itself right away by producing electricity. As the
electricity is generated where it is consumed, transmission and
distribution losses are avoided. Solar electricity is particularly
advantageous in situations where the power is used for applications
such as cooling and air conditioning, with peak loads during the
day-time when the solar electricity production is at its highest
level.
There are many ways of installing a
solar power system on a building. We offer them all from a single
source. For a particularly streamlined look, choose an integrated
roof or complete roof system. Alternatively, simply fit a
roof-mounted or flat-roof system onto the existing roof. Peripheral
systems can be installed on terrace roofs and canopies, or fitted to
a façade.
Methods of installation.
Roof-mounted
installation
With Schüco's roof-mounted installation system, the units are
securely fitted onto vertical or horizontal base rails. This makes
it easier to handle them on the roof.
Flat-roof
installation
Schüco's flat-roof installation system benefits from an innovative,
modular design. This means that the units can be combined and
positioned in a wide variety of ways.
Integrated roof installation
The main benefits of Schüco's integrated roof installation system
are its streamlined appearance, perfect integration into the roof,
and its high-quality, long-lasting sealing system.
Complete roof
installation
Schüco's complete roof installation systems are flexible,
future-proof solutions for energy-conscious architecture. Their
elegant, trendsetting design is a hallmark of environmental
awareness.
Canopy
installation
Installing a Schüco peripheral system as a canopy over doors,
windows or south-facing terraces allows you to harness the power of
the sun while also providing protection against direct sunlight and
rain.
Façade
installation
Schüco's façade construction provides a solution that combines
maximum flexibility with superior design. The mounting rails allow
for the solar unit to be attached quickly and securely to the wall
of the building.
SCHUCO
PV modules are available in the Premium Line and the
PV
Light range.
Photovoltaics Large module
- Premium Line
Premium Line products are suitable for the full range of installation
types. Thermal collectors, large photovoltaic modules and residential
roof windows are all the same size and can be combined in a roof
layout to suit most requirements. The frames are available in many RAL
colors and anodized coatings.
